Position Overview: Travel SLPA

The Travel SLPA will work collaboratively with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) while traveling to different assignments across the country. This role offers a unique blend of professional development and adventure as you assist in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to clients of all ages in various clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to SLPs in the assessment and treatment of individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders.
  • Implement therapy plans designed by SLPs, adjusting techniques based on the needs of the client.
  • Document client progress and report findings to the supervising SLP.
  • Maintain open communication with clients and their families regarding therapy objectives and progress.
  • Travel to different locations across Alberta and other provinces as needed, providing on-site SLPA services in diverse environments.
  • Assist in the preparation and organization of materials required for therapy sessions.
  • Engage in continuous professional development, attending workshops and training sessions as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
  • Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably assisting with speech therapy.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to travel and work flexibly in various settings.
  • Proficiency with technology and tools used in therapy and documentation.
