Position Overview: Travel SLPA
The Travel SLPA will work collaboratively with Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) while traveling to different assignments across the country. This role offers a unique blend of professional development and adventure as you assist in delivering high-quality speech therapy services to clients of all ages in various clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide support to SLPs in the assessment and treatment of individuals with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Implement therapy plans designed by SLPs, adjusting techniques based on the needs of the client.
- Document client progress and report findings to the supervising SLP.
- Maintain open communication with clients and their families regarding therapy objectives and progress.
- Travel to different locations across Alberta and other provinces as needed, providing on-site SLPA services in diverse environments.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of materials required for therapy sessions.
- Engage in continuous professional development, attending workshops and training sessions as necessary.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
- Previous experience in a clinical setting, preferably assisting with speech therapy.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to travel and work flexibly in various settings.
- Proficiency with technology and tools used in therapy and documentation.
