About the Position: Research Scientist – Electric Powertrain Development
We’re looking for a talented Research Scientist specializing in electric powertrain development to join our team remotely. This position offers the unique opportunity to contribute to the future of mobility by conducting research and development in the field of electric vehicles (EVs) and hybrid systems. You’ll play a pivotal role in advancing our electric powertrain technologies to help meet Honda’s goals for sustainability and efficiency.
Your Responsibilities will include:
- Conducting cutting-edge research on electric powertrain components and systems.
- Developing and optimizing electric motor performance, battery technologies, and energy management strategies.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineers and product developers, to integrate innovative solutions into our EV platform.
- Performing simulations, modeling, and analysis to forecast the impacts of new technologies on the powertrain performance.
- Participating in the design of experiments and evaluating results to drive improvements in electric powertrain systems.
- Staying informed on industry trends and emerging technologies related to electric vehicles and powertrains.
- Documenting and presenting research findings to internal stakeholders and at industry conferences.
About You:
The ideal candidate for this role will have a research-focused background in engineering or a related scientific discipline, a passion for electric mobility, and the ability to work well in a remote team environment.
Key Qualifications:
- PhD or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Proven experience in electric powertrain development, including familiarity with battery management systems and electric motor technology.
- Strong proficiency in simulation tools such as MATLAB, Simulink, and relevant software for modeling and analysis.
- Knowledge of electric vehicle standards, protocols, and testing methodologies.
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box and propose innovative solutions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for articulating complex ideas to diverse audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
