Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Remote Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) to join our dynamic team. As a CISO, you will be responsible for overseeing our information security initiatives, ensuring that our data, client information, and digital assets are protected against emerging cybersecurity threats. Your expertise will guide our security policies, risk management strategies, and compliance measures, allowing us to uphold our reputation as a trusted company within the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive security strategies to safeguard the company’s digital assets and sensitive information.
- Establish and enforce security policies, protocols, and procedures to protect against cyber threats.
- Lead risk assessment initiatives to identify vulnerabilities and implement strategies to mitigate potential risks.
- Coordinate the response and recovery processes for security breaches, including cybersecurity incident response planning.
- Collaborate with executives to align security initiatives with business goals and objectives.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and governmental guidelines related to data security and privacy.
- Staying abreast of industry trends, emerging threats, and technology updates, recommending improvements to systems and protocols as necessary.
- Conduct security awareness training for employees to foster a culture of security within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field; a Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CISSP, CISM, etc.) is preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of experience in information security roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership position.
- Expert knowledge of information security frameworks, risk management, and compliance regulations (e.g., GDPR, SOX, NIST).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and prioritize risks effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of conveying complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with security auditing tools and methodologies, incident response, and vulnerability assessment tools.
- Proficient in current cybersecurity technologies, security event monitoring, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
- Proactive and adaptable, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for security outcomes.
