About the Operations Technician Role
As an Operations Technician at Bruce Power, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our facility. This position combines technical expertise with proactive problem-solving skills, supporting our commitment to excellence and innovation in energy production.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and control plant operations across multiple systems to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment and report any anomalies to the Operations Manager.
- Assist with troubleshooting equipment and system issues to limit downtime and increase reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams on scheduled maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Document all activities and contribute to operational reports as per regulatory and company standards.
- Participate in safety drills and training sessions to ensure a high level of preparedness across the operations team.
- Support environmental protection initiatives by adhering to all operational protocols and preserving natural ecosystems.
- Engage with team members to foster a collaborative and dynamic workplace culture.
Your Qualities and Skills
We are looking for talented individuals who are passionate about nuclear power and excited to take part in the renewable energy conversation. Ideal candidates should possess:
- A post-secondary education in Nuclear Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong technical aptitude with a minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role, preferably in the nuclear or heavy industrial sector.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to safety protocols.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure while managing multiple tasks.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
