Position: Caregiver
As a Caregiver at West Crystal, you will play a vital role in enhancing the daily lives of our residents. This position offers an opportunity to engage with seniors, providing physical assistance, emotional support, and companionship. Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
- Monitor and document residents’ health and behavioral changes, reporting any concerns to nursing staff.
- Provide companionship and engage residents in recreational and social activities.
- Administer medication as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans.
- Support residents in mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Assist with housekeeping tasks such as laundry, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to continuously improve care quality.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in patient care.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in a relevant field (such as Health Care Aide) is an asset.
- Prior experience in elderly home jobs or caregiving is preferred, but not required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Empathy and compassion towards the elderly population.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical capability to assist residents with mobility and perform caregiving tasks.
- Knowledge of basic health and safety principles in a caregiving environment.
